Traditionally, September and October are those months dedicated to the harvest. Here in Sicily it started a bit before this year. Since August our thoughts, efforts and days have been dedicated to this essential moment, during which we pick up the results of an entire year of work – the first step, the most important in order to obtain high quality wines.
It is also and especially a celebration moment, when people meet up in the middle of the vineyard. The harvest is something that people do all together, rediscovering old traditions, respecting the phases of hand picking.
Selecting the grapes, cutting the bunches and fill the cases up. Then at the winery everything is ready to welcome the fruits and start the pressing. And now the grapes become must.
This is a journey in the culture of wine, where the Sicilian tradition, folk uses and experience mix together with new moments, wine methods and style that try to improve every year. The way to reach the bottle is still long, but we’ll keep you posted!
